E-LEARNING SOLUTIONS
Would you like to:
- Increase your training effectiveness?
- Extend your training reach?
- Save travel money?
- Leverage proven training techniques?
- Develop skills and competencies to thrive in the digital business age?
E-Learning is essentially the computer and network enabled transfer of skills and knowledge. E-Learning applications and processes include web-based training (WBTs), virtual classrooms, digital collaboration and virtual learning reinforcement and assessments.
When skillfully designed and implemented, e-Learning:
- Yields better learner performance compared with
instructor-led courses because participants apply learning to real life situations throughout the learning (learn/apply/learn/apply), vs. a 1-day class with role-play exercises.
- Offers flexibility to learners since e-Learning is typically
self-paced and can be paused, allowing the learner to better absorb the information.
- Allows for targeted modules that increase scheduling
flexibility for teams that must continue to do business while training.
- Features interactivity which keeps the learning engaging.
your customers.
If you have not yet discovered what e-Learning can do for you and your organization, the time to jump in has never been better.

IT, Change Management and Training: They MUST Work Together for Successful EMR Implementation
Jonena Relth, President and Leadership Evangelist
Ok, so we know that electronic medical records systems (EMRs) are designed to transform traditional, paper-based medical records into cutting-edge, electronic records that provide entire clinical teams with a more complete picture of their patients’ needs and more tools to continue delivering superior healthcare. What many leaders don’t understand is why our best efforts to implement EMR systems fall on deaf ears and our medical professionals are struggling to make the change from paper to paper-lite. After all, we’ve done our best to build new and improved workflows and customized the system to meet the needs of our users. Well, my experience has been with EMR implementation is that leaders don’t understand that the most important component of an EMR implementation is related to change management – the people side of integrating new processes and technology.
IT professionals aren’t change management experts, nor are they training professionals. Without the three disciplines working together during the entire life of the project, all the “I’s” won’t get dotted and the “T’s” won’t get crossed. In other words, you’ll have a software system installed but the people you want to use it won’t be communicated with in a way that allows them to accept and adopt the changes, nor will they be trained in a way that meets their learning style.

Admitting Mistakes
Guest Author: Robert Whipple
One of the most powerful opportunities for any leader to build trust is to publicly admit mistakes. The source of that power is that it is so rare for leaders to stand up in front of a group and say something like this: “I called you here today to admit that I made a serious blunder yesterday. It was not intentional, as I will explain. Nevertheless, I failed to do the best thing for our group. I sincerely apologize for this and call on all of us to help mend the damage quickly. Without being defensive, let me just explain what happened…”
If you were in the audience listening to this leader, how would you react? Chances are your esteem for the leader would be enhanced, simply by the straightforward approach and honesty of the statements. Of course, it does depend on the nature of the mistake. Here are a few situations where an admission of a mistake would not produce higher trust:
- If the blunder was out of sheer stupidity.
- If this was the third time the leader had done essentially the same thing.
- If the leader is prone to making mistakes due to shooting before aiming.
- If the leader simply failed to get information that he should have had.
- If the leader was appeasing higher-ups inappropriately.

EHR Software Market Share Analysis
Chris Thorman and his team at SoftwareAdvice has completed a very challenging research project into the EHR/EMR market share existing today. His article includes:
-
The size of the outpatient EMR market
-
What EMR vendors have the most physicians using their system
-
What EMR vendors have the most practices using their system
We think you will find it quite informative. Here is a clip from this medical blog:
“Calculating market share for the electronic health record (EHR) market is no easy task. There are over 300 software vendors, many market segments (consider: size of practice served, specialties services, inpatient/outpatient) and very “fuzzy” sources of data.
