TBD CONSULTING LEADER NAMED TO ARIZONA HIMSS CHAPTER BOARD OF DIRECTORS
PHOENIX, AZ – The Arizona Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (AzHIMSS) names Mike Abrams to their Board of Directors. In his role as Communications Chairman, Abrams will leverage social media and traditional marketing communications to increase awareness of events and services, foster dialogue of important healthcare information systems topics and member participation.“After speaking at the National HIMSS Conference in Chicago this spring, I was very keen to become more involved at the local level. I’m pleased to work with such industry knowledgeable professionals who serve as members on the board. Through our programs, advocacy, and member communications, we are truly going to have one of the most dynamic chapters in the US,” said Abrams.Some of the first steps put in place by Abrams to foster this mission were to create a Twitter account (http://www.twitter.com/azhimss) and immediately begin connecting with other HIMSS leaders and members. This was met with great feedback from those already online to see Arizona take this step. Next, setting up the #AZHIMSS hashtag as common filter, makes it easier for members to get AzHIMSS updates and support group chat. Next the group established a LinkedIn (http://www.linkedin.com) group focused on AzHIMSS announcements and member discussions.
